Word Ventures is committed to protecting your security and privacy, and the safety of minor students. We limit the information that we collect from you to that needed to provide you with the publishing services that you request. Please read on for more details about our security and privacy practices and policies.

Word Ventures uses several different online form, database, and payment processing technologies to facilitate our publishing programs. All such tools provide parents and adult students with the highest level of commercial security available, including the use of:

1. Secure Servers

2. Secure Socket Layer Transmission

3. Data Encryption

Secure Servers and Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Transmission

All Word Ventures' forms that can be accessed by sponsors, parents, and adult students are hosted on secure servers that utilize the 128-bit Secure Socket Layers (SSL) protocol.  Your browser may automatically verify and inform you of this when you click to access one of the forms, and once accessed you may notice that the web addresses of the forms begin with "https", the last "s" verifying that the form is being hosted on a secure server utilizing SSL.

Utilizing such secure server technology does more than just protect information once it's submitted. Our associated use of SSL also secures information you enter into a form from interception during transmission over the Internet. Again, your browser may automatically inform you of this when you access a given Word Ventures form.

Data Encryption

As a second level of protection, any information you enter into a Word Ventures form is encrypted:

1. While you are entering it

2. While it is being transmitted over the Internet

3. And once it has been received.

The password required to decipher your information, in the unlikely event that someone would illegally gain access to it, is 128 alpha-numeric, case-sensitive characters long.

Despite the above, Word Ventures never posts children's names on pages of our web site, not even on password protected pages of it. Similarly, it is never required that a minor student communicate with Word Ventures in any way; any required communication is with the parent of a minor student, not the student him or herself.

Word Ventures does not sell, trade, rent, or give your personal information to other individuals, organizations, or corporations, ever, period.

Please note that in some cases you will be asked to provide information to a third party, such as when making a payment to Word Ventures. In this case, the payment processor that Word Ventures has hired to process payments must have certain information in order to validate your payment.

Word Ventures only works with the most reputable third parties—those whose policies and historical practices match our own with regard to client privacy and security.
